Cornhole / Bean Bag Toss
Cornhole or Bean Bag Tossing can easily be incorporated into a fundraising fete or fair.
In the traditional American version of this simple game contestants take turns to throw bean bags through a hole in a plank of wood.
But there are all sorts of ways that this can easily be adapted into a great attraction at a fete.
Here are some ideas, but there are lots of variations you could try: Real Mouthful
Paint pictures of faces on bits of wood with the cornholes cut out where the mouths are. Hang or stand them up. Then see if you can give them a Real Mouthful. You could also draw (or photocopy and enlarge) the pictures of politicians footballers or popstars and stick them on to your wooden baseplates with the mouths cut out. Even if you don't get your bag in their mouth there is something curiously satisfying in seeing a smug politician get it in the chops! Bullseye
Get an old rug / carpet / blanket and mark it out with a bullseye target. number the rings. Contestants pitch from behind a line and need to score above a certain number to win a prize. You will need to have quite a long distance between the pitcher and the target or it may be too easy. If space was limited you could always do a blindfold version with a friend shouting guidance to the pitcher. Pop It In The Pail
Arrange a number of buckets at a certain distance from the pitching line. Metal is best if not weight the buckets with a brick in the bottom. Get a bag in any pail to win a prize. You could even put the prizes in the buckets or pictures of them on the outside ie get a bag in this bucket to win a Mars bar. Moving Target
Rig up a tyre swinging on a rope. As it swings contestants have to pitch their bags through the hole in the middle. Bean Bag Basketball
Pitch your bags through the basketball hoop. On-Me-Head
Attach a small basket or plastic bowl to the top of a helmet. An old builders hard hat is ideal, you can drill through and attach your basket with short bolts. Contestants then try to catch bean bags thrown in the air in the basket on their heads. This particular cornhole game is really visual and particularly popular with kids.
